First Annual Arizona Geological Society Doug Shakel Student Poster Event

The AGS will host a special meeting on Thursday, April 18, 2013 in Tempe at the Embassy Suites Hotel (4400 South Rural Road, Tempe, AZ 85282, at the intersection of South Rural Road and the Superstition Freeway, one mile due south of the Arizona State University campus.

Prizes will be awarded:
First Prize: $500; Second Prize $250; Third Prize $100

Schedule for the event:

6:00-7:00 PM: Viewing of posters during the social hour.

7:00-8:00 Dinner (Dinner is FREE for students who make a reservation by 5:00 PM, Friday, April 12. Students who register must sign up for free AGS membership. Students without posters are welcome!

7:00-9:00: Students give a 3 minute oral presentation, summarizing their poster.

9:30: Presentation of prizes.

Professor Steve Reynolds of Arizona State University will lead a field trip to South Mountain on Friday, April 19 in the morning.
